Mark started his career in Business Intelligence only a couple of years after BusinessObjects was founded and right at the start of the Data Warehouse and BI market explosion. He holds the rare distinction of having held roles as a customer, business partner and employee of Business Objects.  As a BusinessObjects customer he saw at first hand the challenges associated with the timely adoption of new techniques to address business problems and how information needed to be delivered to as many people as possible within the organisation.  This experience was the foundation for Mark’s subsequent success as an entrepreneur in the business intelligence industry as he founded Blue Edge Software. Blue Edge Software’s vision was to democratise the delivery of business intelligence information to all areas of an organisation. In 2002, Blue Edge Software became the third company to be acquired by BusinessObjects and their technology became the foundation of Broadcast Agent Publisher.

In 2007, Mark founded Antivia, a BI software company that delivered enterprise integration for Xcelsius customers against their BusinessObjects content and DecisionPoint, a BI applications platform that allowed organisations to deliver easy to use BI applications via mobile and the web to help drive wider adoption and use of information. He remains as passionate today about business intelligence as he did in 1994 when he was installing BusinessObjects 3 which shipped on 32 floppy discs!
