The Myth of Self-Service BI

For the best part of 40 years we have been led to believe that unfettered, end-user, ad-hoc self-service BI is the ultimate end point for Business Intelligence. Not only is this not true but at best it gets in the way of delivering value from BI and at worst it makes BI a drag on the organization. This session will look at the BI market’s historic obsession with self-service BI, why it has taken us off course and how we can readjust to maximize value from BI.
